HDR Winter and LAB Tree
I have not abandoned this blog, but sorry for neglecting it for so long. Most of my pictures have been shot while I travel around New York State while I'm working, but it's cold in the winter and I don't always like to step out of the car too much :)
Here are two pictures; the first one is a High Dynamic Range image of a country road I was on, which I really enjoyed the blue sky. It always seems that the sky is overcast white during the winter, so I had to take advantage of this sky.
The next one is a picture of a tree that I took in the summer. I love working in LAB color mode in photoshop, and I don't understand why so few people use it. Took me forever to get it to look this way!

I love these two...but you already know that! :)
I've been wondering where you were, but I'm glad you posted these pics.
I LOVE the tree! How did you know my thing for them? Not to mention my favorite color. ; )
I really like the first one. It's looks so warm and yet so freezing at the same time.
@Lisa: thanks haha, I wouldn't have done the tree if we weren't talking about lab color!
@JJ, I miss you! I've been such a bad blogger lately. My bb broke recently and I lost all my contacts with my new one. I tried emailing you jjinla at hotmail, yahoo, gmail, and aol but they all came back undelivered! :( I can't remember your email, can you send me one? I wanted to see how you're feeling.
Thanks for liking the tree :)
@Natalie: I couldn't pass that scene up. Especially with the snow being fresh, god knows within a couple hours it probably got filthy from road grime. Thanks for enjoying it!
Oohh, that blue sky is delicious! It really looks like you could drink it. Like the clouds are big white ice cubes. Love it!
I miss you, Mr. C. Please come back into my life. Thanks. <3
@Amandasaurus: good to know you're still around, I thought you left my life!
Great pics. As always. When I manage to snap off a good photo, it's more by luck than design...
You have real talent... but then you know that already. Thanks for sharing the photos.
Hey, I really like that HDR one, even if I am mad at the blue sky of a winter day for fooling me and making me think I wouldn't freeze my face off upon stepping outside!
k I need the tree.
Thanks.
(good work as usual and I love it that you posted. I wish you'd find time to do it more often.)
Glad you are back Sir. it is good to see you posting again. You make me want to take a class in photoshop so i can learn all these stunning effects.
Love this blog! Great Pics!!!
nice blog, excellent pics and editing work.
cheers..
lovely!
I love the winter photo! I'm from Manitoba and I think a certain beauty is lost when people are busy grumbling about cold and snow. This one really made me smile and miss home!
